A meeting of the NFL’s owners in Chantilly, VA has just concluded, and with it, any pending move on a lockout, at least for the moment, has not occurred.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said, There were no decisions, and no actions were taken.” However, the NFL’s Executive Committee has been empowered to make any such decision on the owners’ behalf.

The owners meeting took place after a federal mediation session that saw owners and key members of the NFLPA staff attend. As was the case in prior sessions, due to a gag order, no one is saying what the context of those meetings were.

But, if it’s any indication, the owners traveled back from Virginia to Washington, DC. Sessions could continue tonight and tomorrow right up to the midnight deadline, if mediator George Cohen sees value in it.

In looking at the actions today, it appears that there is still considerable distance between the owners and players.

More details as they become available
