UPDATE #5 - According to the Tennessean, McNair was involved in a murder-suicide with a girl he met at a restaurant that he had dated for several months. McNair, "died of several gunshots and was found on the sofa, police said. Sahel Kazemi, 20, was found alongside him in a Second Avenue condo he rented. She had a single gunshot wound to her head; a pistol was found near her body." Autopsies will be conducted on both McNair and Kazemi on Sunday. Police said Saturday they didn’t know when the shootings occurred. Police did not release the name of the woman until late Saturday night, saying they first wanted to contact relatives. Early on, as speculation grew about the woman’s identity, police said the victim was not Mechelle McNair, Steve McNair’s wife and the mother of three of his four sons. Mechelle McNair was at the family’s home in Green Hills on Saturday and did not speak to the media.
UPDATE #4 - Story in flux. It is unclear if the woman involved in McNair's wife. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said, "At this point, we don't know the circumstances of these shooting deaths. The investigation is going to be conducted by the police department's centralized homicide unit. Those detectives have assembled here at the scene. The condominium still has to be processed. There is a lot of work yet to be done. It's going to take many hours to process the scene. I don't have any answers for you now as to what's happened, who's responsible, what the circumstances are."
UPDATE #3 - Reports are now coming in that it is not a murder-suicide, but rather, a double homicide. "We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair's passing today," Titans owner K.S. "Bud" Adams Jr. said in a statement. "He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing."
UPDATE #2: McNair was reportedly shot in the head, with the female being his wife.
UPDATE #1: According to WATE television, "According to reports, the incident happened at 2nd South & Lea Ave. Police said it looked like a double homicide. A female victim was also found dead."
