Despite his recent visits with the San Francisco 49'ers, free-agent quarterback Kurt Warner wants to return to the Cardinals, even for a discounted deal.

John Clayton of ESPN.com reported Tuesday that Warner directed his agent to propose a two-year, $23 million deal that would include $12 million in guaranteed money split evenly in each season. The proposal from Warner is reportedly for less money than the 49'ers offer which was thought to be closer to the $30 million range, indicating that Arizona is where he wants to be.

In addition, sources say that Warner will accept $1 million per year less if the Cardinals can renegotiate the contract of disgruntled wideout Anquan Boldin. Warner and Arizona appear to be approximately $3 million apart, and the 37 year-old veteran is waiting for a response from the team.
