According to Yahoo! Sports, the Detroit Lions got busy in the free agent market on Friday by signing cornerback Stanley Wilson and punter/kicker Paul Ernster. Each received a one-year contract.
Wilson was originally a third round draft pick out of Stanford by the Lions in 2005. He played well early in the season last year, but experienced a season-ending injury against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11. Ernster was originally drafted by the Denver Broncos out of Northern Arizona in 2005. He played in one game for both the Broncos and the Cleveland Browns last season. The Lions also waived safety Patrick Body over the weekend. For more news mentioning the Lions reported by the Biz of Football check here. More recent news from around the league can be found here.
